Tips & Tools

  • Use your ice cream scoop for filling up your muffin or cupcake pan. The scoop is the perfect size for the ideal batter portion for each well.

  • If you don't have a mandoline, but you want thin slices of a veggie, use the long blade on a cheese grater.

  • Gallon sized plastic baggies are the perfect tool for marinating meat. Put all of your spices, oils, and meat in the bag, mix, and store until you're ready to cook!

  • One of my go-to dishes is pasta. I use a variety of ingredients for pastas, but commonly use a marinara sauce. Instead of buying pre-made spaghetti or marinara sauces which can be expensive and blah, I always make my own. It's cheap, super easy, and satisfying. I stock three things in my pantry: canned tomato sauce, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes. They are usually on sale for less than a dollar each (I've found sauce and paste for 39 cents!!!) so I buy a few every time I'm grocery shopping. With these ingredients, I can create any flavor I want by adding spices, veggies, and changing up the quantities. See the recipe (coming soon!) for my home-made pasta sauce and you won't want to go back to pre-made ever again!!
